The members were pinned by DG AKS Dr. Krishnendu Gupta and Rtn. Bhaswati Roy in presence of District Executive Secretary Rtn. Amitava Chakraborty and District Treasurer Rtn. K. K. Jha. The members were introduced by club president Rtn. Utsav Bhanja.

This initiative, launched during the club’s 30th year, aims to empower beneficiaries with skill-based training and promote self-reliance.

Club President Rtn. Utsav Bhanja led the inauguration, highlighting the importance of sustainable social impact. The project is generously supported by Incfrog as the Initiative Sponsor, whose contribution has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.

This initiative directly benefits over 600 girl students by ensuring access to safe drinking water. These filters were received from RC Calcutta as a part of their Atmanirbhar project.

Rtn. Manjusri Nandi, Rtn. Dr. Ases Ratan Nandi, Rtn. Dr. Ashok Dutta, Rtn. Koushik Banerjee, Rtn. Illanjana Bhadra were present at the project along with club president Rtn. Utsav Bhanja. Club guest Ellora Bhadra also took part in the event.

The club extended its support by donating a wheelchair, nebuliser, emergency medical equipment, portable phlegm suction unit and a supply of insulin, aiming to enhance the healthcare and mobility facilities for the elderly residents. Club President Rtn. Utsav Bhanja and Club Treasurer Rtn. Koushik Banerjee were present during the visit, personally handing over the items and interacting with the residents. Total no. of beneficiaries are 40.

Arindam Chatterjee was the project chair. Rtn. Tamasha Dutta Das was also present at the event.

Members present were Rtn. Tamasa Dutta Das , Rtn. Ashmita Paul and club president Rtn. Utsav Bhanja along with guests Smt. Alpona & Shri Triparno Ghosal.

Discussions for creating future scope of improvement were made between club president and the school teachers.

The women attend evening classes at a local study centre and are often faced with challenges due to electricity shortage. Club members were moved by the kind of strength these mothers have shown in educating themselves. Number of beneficiaries were 37 women.

Members present were Rtn Tamasa Das Dutta , Rtn Ashmita Paul & club president Rtn. Utsav Bhanja along with two guests Smt. Alpona & Mr. Triparno Ghosal who accompanied the members in distributing food and discussing about their progress in basic education.

Blankets Distribution at RCC Mahishamuri https://www.rotarysouthcentral.org.in/blankets-distribution-at-rcc-mahishamuri/ Sat, 20 Jan 2024 18:10:04 +0000 https://www.rotarysouthcentral.org.in/?p=7265 January 20, 2024 – Fifty blankets were distributed at RCC Mahishamuri (South 24 Parganas), West Bengal, by members of Rotary Club of Calcutta South Central. As an adopted village, previous donations by the club had reached most of the households of the village. So this time, underprivileged people from eight surrounding villages were invited to the donation drive and were handed over blankets to keep them warm during the chilly winter season.

Rtn. Arindam Chatterjee, Rtn. Koushik Banerjee and Club President Rtn. Utsav Bhanja were present at the distribution event, along with Siddhartha Haldar of Rotary Community Corps, Mahishamuri.
